HOT off the runway, our very own fashionista Juliana Mare brings you the latest trends to don as the weather starts to cool.

Bold prints

The time for block colours has come and gone. This autumn, it’s all about patterns, whether they be pretty florals, neon and geometric or rustic and tribal. Take a leaf out of designer Charlie Brown’s book and stand out in tiger print and graphic prints.

For a slightly less intense outfit, pair a patterned top or jacket with solid coloured pants or vice versa.

A lightweight blazer is a staple item in any wardrobe, especially for autumn. This Leah blue floral heavy crepe collarless blazer from Boohoo.com can be dressed up or down to brighten up any outfit and is just $60.

These unique Kaleidoscope printed trousers have a beautiful pastel, geometric pattern and a flattering high waistline. Get them from ASOS for $69.32.

This stunning gold and bronze Anika embelleshed mini skirt from Forever New is a must-have for your autumn wardrobe. It also comes in black/grey tones and can easily be paired with black stockings for the cooler weather. It’s on sale at $44.95.

Monochrome

The adage ‘back to black’ is taking on a whole new meaning this year as black and white fashion makes its long awaited comeback to the catwalks after peaking in the 1960s.

Fashion greats Alexander Wang, Marc Jacobs and Ralph Lauren have all revived monochrome this season, so there’s no shortage of tops, dresses and even handbags and accessories to update your wardrobe with.

Comfy and fashionable, what more can a girl ask for? Pair these Sunny printed slouch pants from Jay Jays with a solid black or white blouse for a trendy daytime outfit. They’re $29.95.

Oversized

Who doesn’t love a soft, comfy and oversized jumper to snuggle into as the weather cools down? This autumn, add a little flare to your silhouette by wearing a jumper or lightweight coat with oversized, padded shoulders.

Pair oversized tops and jackets with slim leg jeans or leggings to balance your outfit.
